Hawthorne Park offers a peaceful, well-maintained place to stop, stretch, and enjoy a picnic. In the developed portion of the park, you'll find picnic shelters, sports fields, a disc golf course, playground, and a community center. The park borders a riparian woodland, through which the Little Calumet River meanders, providing a quiet spot for fishing and watching birds, including downy, hairy, and red-bellied woodpeckers, and many warblers during spring migration.

Looking for a wayto cool down on a hot summer night? Then swing by Hawthorne Park for a movie under the stars. Prior to the film, a free concert will take place at the shelter beginning at 7 pm (movie to follow at dusk). In the event of inclement weather, the concert & movie will be moved inside the Community Center at Hawthorne Park.
