About
The largest "living" dune in the National Park. Mount Baldy is currently moving about four feet every year. Hiking adventures are led by rangers from the National Park Service. As the dune moves, it buries everything in its path, including trees. Scientists continue to study this important area of the ever-changing lakeshore. Call the Visitor Center for information on guided tours as even with the beach open, the dune at Mounty Baldy will remain closed for public safety.
